The final score: “Organ” side: 538 / “Screen” side: 601 “WOW” what a quarter.
The “Screen” side took the lead in the 4th quarter that produced 452 containers of soup.
The Soup just kept pouring in all morning and although the score did not break the all-time high, it does become the second highest total in our seven years of “Souper” Bowls.
I guess what this reporter heard really is true “nothing is impossible with God.” It was an exciting game with outstanding efforts from players on both sides.
The MVP for the game is Dave Buckland, who not only delivered all the soup to Carroll County Food Sunday (took 2 trips), but who also delivers all the food that is collected each week throughout the entire year.
All players are reminded that they cannot rest on their SOUPER Bowl achievements and should begin practicing right away for next year’s SOUPER Bowl VIII by bring non-perishable food items to the narthex each Sunday for the Carroll County Food Sunday program.
Before signing off we have a message from the folks at Carroll County Food Sunday who say “Thank You” and they can’t wait for next year’s game.
This final report brought to you by Deer Park Soup Central – see you next year for “SOUPER” BOWL VIII.
The Sisterhood will hand-deliver cards at the VA Hospital.
To send a Valentine greeting, place your cards in the basket located in the narthex marked “Veteran’s Cards”.
We are also asking for donations of Sugar-Free Candy to hand out with the cards.
Please address your envelopes “To a Veteran” and sign your name.
Deadline is Sunday, February 5.
Questions see anyone from the Sisterhood.
February is the month to blanket the world with love.
Your donation enables Church World Service to provide blankets, food, shelter, safe water and other tools of hope when disaster happens.
