CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL – Today, Sunday, May 17 is the last day of Sunday school. Classes will be on summer break, with plans to resume in September. We plan to have a few summer family events so be sure to stay in touch! Jill & Kathie
SISTERHOOD COMMUNITY PROJECT FOR MAY – The Emergency Department at Carroll Hospital is in need of new, solid color t-shirts, shorts & sweatpants or other stretchy cotton pants in large sizes (L-3XL) for male patients whose clothing has been soiled or ruined.

PENTECOST – Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other believers, 50 days after Easter.
As described in the Book of Acts, the Holy Spirit descended “like a strong wind” and “like wildfire” above the believers’ heads. You are invited to wear red next Sunday, May 24, to symbolize the Holy Spirit coming to us in flames of fire!
DRAMA GROUP – Our drama group will be rehearsing in the sanctuary following the 11AM service on May 17, 24 & 31 and on June 14 (dress rehearsal).
GRADUATES & RECOGNITION – Do we have anyone graduating from High School or College this year? If you know of someone, please let Cindy Saylor know so she can give you a form to fill out. Recognition will be Sunday, June 14.
BUS TRIP – A bus trip to see Joshua at Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA is scheduled for Friday, August 21. The bus will pick-up here at church and at Brightview Westminster Ridge. We will stop before the show for a buffet lunch at Hershey Farms Restaurant. Flyers with all details are in the narthex, along with a sign-up sheet. Any questions please see Keenan Hudson.
CHURCH DIRECTORY – We are wrapping up the plans for our new directory. We need your picture. We can take your picture, see Cindy Saylor to schedule. If you have one you want to use, please give it to Cindy (pictures will be returned) or send it electronically to [email protected]. If you haven’t already done so, please fill in your contact information on the sheets in the narthex. This is a great project and will be very helpful and useful when it is completed. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – June 22-26, 6-8:15PM, the theme is “Snowball Mountain Challenge: Find Your Strength in God”. A snowy winter sports adventure centered around Philippians 4:13. A free light supper is provided from 5:15 to 5:45PM in the social hall. Volunteers are still needed, see Jill Redmond if can help. There is a WISH LIST in the narthex of things we would like to borrow to help decorate for VBS that would be a great help. Thanks! Jill
SAFEGUARDING THE CHURCH – Contacts Pastor Lee & Bill Newcomb.
- Side doors are locked 5 minutes prior to the start of each service.
- Front door is locked 10 minutes after the start of each service.
- All doors are unlocked after the conclusion of each service and remain unlocked until the start of the next service.
- Signs are posted at each door explaining the procedures.
Ongoing Efforts
COFFEE & CHAT – Sign-up sheet on the door to the communion room, to supply some goodies. It does not need to be elaborate,
just something simple. This is a great fellowship ministry.
Reminder – if you sign up to make coffee, please designate someone to clean up and to make sure coffee pots are unplugged. Thanks!

AMERICAN FLAGS – Have an American Flag to be discarded? Leave it in the church office. Carroll Hospice collects them for the “Stars for our Troops” program.

PRAYER CHAIN – A prayer chain starts when a person shares a prayer need, the request is then passed along to the group to pray over. If interested in joining the group, please see Shirley Miller.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY – A “ONE CALL NOW” message will be sent by 7:00AM Sunday morning, if worship services are cancelled or changed. You can also check the church phone 410-848-2313 for an updated message.
ONE CALL NOW – This system is used to send out prayer requests & church information. If you want to be added contact Cindy Saylor.
VIDEO CAMERA TRAINING –We need people to operate the cameras for videoing of both services. If you have an interest in helping, please see Keenan.
